Day 1: 18 Feb 2027 Sydney to Buenos Aires

Today we meet up at Sydney Airport for our flight Sydney to Santiago with a connection onto Buenos Aires.

On arrival we will transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: 19 Feb 2027 Buenos Aires to Ushuaia

After Breakfast we will transfer to the Airport for our flight to Ushuaia.

Ushuaia is the most southerly city in the world and the capital of Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire). It has a dramatic setting, surrounded by mountains to the north and the Beagle Channel to the south, making it a spectacular departure point for your Antarctic adventure.

After a friendly welcome at the airport and a transfer to the luxurious Arakur Resort & Spa (or another of Ushuaia’s top luxury hotels), take some time to unwind or explore the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia.

Our evening briefing is your opportunity to ask questions and meet some of your fellow explorers.

Day 3: 20 Feb 2027 Tierra Del Fuego NP Tour+Train

Today you will explore the only National Park on the island, Tierra del Fuego, home to a variety of wildlife including beavers, foxes and rabbits as well as some beautiful native flora. A collection of short walks will take you to Ensenada Bay, Roca Lake and Lapataia Bay, before returning to Ushuaia by the End of the World Train.

In the afternoon we will transfer to the pier of Ushuaia for embarkation in the late afternoon. You will be welcomed on board the Discoverer by the Expedition Team and the Ship’s Officers.

This evening we set sail through the Beagle Channel that was named after the British ship the HMS Beagle. This famous channel transects the Tierra del Fuego archipelago in the extreme south of South America, and is rich in wildlife. Keep a look out for Magellanic penguins, rock cormorants, petrels and black-browed albatross from the deck as well as sea lion colonies.

Enjoy your first taste of life at sea and a welcome dinner. The air is likely to be filled with anticipation, as your next view of land will be of Antarctica - the White Continent.

Day 4 & 5: 21 FEB 2027: ULTIMATE CIRCLE CROSSING

Join our Polar Experts as they share their vast knowledge of Antarctica, from its enchanting wildlife to its bold history. Participate in our pioneering Citizen Science program, or sit back and take in this fabled journey while catching glimpses of rarely-seen wildlife. Keep your binoculars handy to identify the many seabirds that escort our ship as we cross the Antarctic Convergence into Antarctica’s waters and noticeably cooler temperatures.

Day 6 23 FEB 2027: ULTIMATE CIRCLE CROSSING

Over time, the volcanic activity of the South Shetland Islands has created a geology unlike any other.

Here, you can expect a spectacular display of mountains, glaciers, and wildlife including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins; and it’s not uncommon to share the water’s edge with Elephant and Fur seals. Whales are often spotted as well. So, we’ll settle into our Zodiacs and kayaks, and spend most of our day exploring. Whether on land or sea, in Zodiac or kayak, be prepared for a fully immersive introduction to this incomparable part of the world.

Day 7-10 24 FEB 2027: ULTIMATE CIRCLE CROSSING

Heading south across the Bransfield Strait, we begin to see the breathtaking outline of the Antarctic Peninsula. Wildlife sightings, including penguins, whales, and fur seals, become more frequent, as do dramatic ice sculptures. Should Antarctica’s unpredictable weather and ice permit, you will be among the lucky few to cross the Antarctic Circle, where the sun remains in the sky for 20 hours a day. Following a tradition first established by sailors crossing the equator, we’ll celebrate the occasion by… (Sorry, you just have to be there), before heading onward toward any number of historic and rarely visited British survey bases, after which we turn back north.

Day 11-13 28 FEB 2027: ULTIMATE CIRCLE CROSSING

Heading north, we’ll explore all the Antarctic Peninnsula has to offer, including any number of spectacular bays and famed harbours, manoeuvring through dramatic channels as we traverse the wildlife-rich waters, encountering a wide variety of lively penguins, seals, and whales along the rugged coastlines. There are always great opportunities to stop at several active scientific bases and historic landing sites along the way as we leave no opportunity unseized-upon in our quest to explore the very best of this magical place.

Day 14 -15 03 MAR 2027: ULTIMATE CIRCLE CROSSING

We leave this magical place and make our way north, once again heading across the Antarctic

Convergence and the Drake Passage. We have one last hurrah as we celebrate the conclusion of our expedition with a special slideshow and a final meal together.

Day 16 05 MAR 2027: Disembarkation & Beagle Channel (Bird & Sea Lion Islands)

With huge smiles on weary, content faces, we disembark in the morning and transfer you to your hotel.

In the afternoon we transfer to the dock then sail along the Ushuaia Bay and the Beagle Channel, we get great views back of the city and the mountains, sea and forests that surround it. We sail towards the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse where there is a small cormorant colony, and on the way back we approach the Sea Lions Island where you can enjoy these attractive sea mammals, and the Despard Island which is the natural habitat of the Imperial Cormorants. During the trip we will be able to see many species of seabirds like southern giant petrels, black-browned albatross, skuas, southern American terns, gulls and kelp gulls. After sailing among the Bridges Archipelago and through the Paso Chico, the boat returns to Ushuaia.

Day 17 06 MAR 2027: Ushuaia to Buenos Aires

After breakfast we will transfer to the airport and fly back to Buenos Aires. On arrival we will transfer from the airport to our hotel for the next 2 Nights

Buenos Aires, Argentina’s elegant, historic and cosmopolitan capital, is known as the “Paris of the South” due to its European atmosphere with glamorous avenues lined with fashionable shops and Parisian-style restaurants and cafes. Located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, Buenos Aires has many fascinating neighbourhoods to explore including the colourful and lively La Boca, home to art galleries and tango shows; San Telmo with its restored mansions and antique stores and Recoleta, the city’s most exclusive area.

Day 18 07 MAR 2027: Buenos Aires

After Breakfast we will have a private tour of Buenos Aires and the surrounds. This evening we have our

farewell dinner at El Fogon Restaurant which is considered one of the best restaurants in Argentina for Asado.

Day 19: 08 Mar 2025 – Buenos Aires to Sydney

Departure Transfer: - You will be collected from your hotel at the appropriate time and transferred to

the airport for your onward flight. We Join our flight for our trip home to Sydney.

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Flight Ticket Amendment and Cancellation Policies

The name on your flight ticket must be exactly as it appears on your travel identification. It is your responsibility to ensure that all details on your ticket are correct, including the spelling of your name and all flight details. Once your ticket has been issued, any necessary changes will incur additional charges.

Once your ticket has been issued, you are bound by the dates and times booked. Any necessary changes will be subject to a change fee which is imposed by the airline. In addition, you will be liable to pay any fare and tax differences between the flight/s originally booked and the new ticket. Any changes to air tickets must be advised at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure.

Generally, flight tickets cannot be transferred into the name of another passenger. Please ask your travel consultant for specific conditions relating to name changes.

Cancellation

If flight tickets need to be cancelled, cancellation fees can vary but can involve forfeiting the entire value of the ticket. Cancellation charges vary depending on the service provider, the time of cancellation and the reason for cancellation. Generally, tickets are non-refundable. For full details on cancellation and refund policies relevant to your ticket, please ask your travel consultant for a full copy of the cancellation terms and conditions.

Tour Operator and Service Provider Amendment and Cancellation Policies

Tour operators and service providers may charge for the amendment or cancellation of travel arrangements once a deposit has been paid or full payment has been made. Please familiarize yourself with the relevant terms and conditions of each tour operator/service provider. These terms and conditions can be found in the travel brochure of the relevant travel company, please ask your consultant if you would like to obtain a copy.

In addition to amendment fees imposed by the tour operator/service provider, Windsong Travel also reserves the right to charge amendment or cancellation fees for any changes made by you after a deposit has been paid.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Although not compulsory, travel insurance is used to make a claim relating to unforeseen circumstances which occur before and during travel. Windsong Travel offers Cover-More Travel Insurance and Allianz Travel Insurance. Please ask your consultant if you would like to obtain a quote. Windsong Travel can give you general advice relating to travel insurance only. What is and isn't covered is explained in the Combined FSG & PDS which can be provided by way of email or in hard copy available in store. It is your responsibility to read the FSG & PDS and ensure that the policy is right for you. Travel insurance can also include cancellation cover which allows an insurance claim to be made should your travel plans change due to unforeseen circumstance before your date of departure. Cancellation cover becomes effective from the date the insurance policy is issued. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that travel insurance is taken out as soon as money has been paid toward your travel arrangements. Should you choose to decline travel insurance, Windsong Travel may require you to sign a Travel Insurance Refusal Declaration.

Passports and Visas

A valid passport is required for all overseas travel and must have at least six months validity from the date of your return. It is your responsibility to ensure that your passport is valid for travel. Windsong Travel is unable to assist or give advice relating to passport issuance or renewal. If you are travelling on a foreign passport, different visa and entry requirements may apply to you. Please advise your travel consultant if you are travelling on a passport other than an Australian passport so that we can ascertain the conditions of entry and visa requirements which apply. As the entitlement to work or permanently reside in a foreign country remains at the discretion of the relevant country, Windsong Travel is unable to assist or provide advice in relation to work or other related visas.

Proof of Travel Documentation

To ensure that your flight tickets match your travel documents, Windsong Travel is required to sight your travel documents before tickets are issued. If your travel documentation cannot be produced at the time of purchase, we may ask that you complete a Client Booking Form. In filling out this form, you are certifying that the information provided is exactly as it appears on your travel documentation. Windsong Travel takes no responsibility for errors on the information provided on the Booking Form.
